On 4 July the big moment had finally come: the red dot design awards 2011 were presented at the Gala at the Aalto-Theater in Essen. This year Villeroy & Boch again has a place among the winners, with awards being conferred upon two products from the My Nature bathroom collection. Both the washbasin series and the freestanding bathtub were chosen for the inter-nationally renowned design prize for the category product design; and that from the 4,433 entrees from more than 60 countries that were submitted. The bathroom collection My Nature brings country style to 2011. Simple, airy, with appealing formal contrasts, My Nature conveys a puristic but natural impression that won over the experts on the jury for the red dot design award.

Exhilarating airiness is introduced to the bathroom by the collection’s award-winning washbasin series with its organically curved form. The novel finish Castanea draws inspiration from chestnut wood. Using ground-breaking production techniques Villeroy & Boch have created a haptic finish for bathroom ceramics that is distinguished by textures and filigree lines that are a joy to see and touch.

The attention-grabber of the collection is though the free-standing bath. Here minimalistic design is combined with natural elements in a surprising material mix of wood and acrylic. This enthroned bath with its curved symmetrical form makes a strong design statement. Great bathing comfort is also ensured through generous interior dimensions and a high rim that offers perfect head support.
